I would like to ask the help of all Ex Green Howard's my father in law has been informed this week that he has secondary cancer of the lung and only has a short time to live..... He is very proud to have served in the green Howard's from 1940 ish to 1960 (sorry I will try and get the correct dates) his full name is John Michael O'connell. ( known as mick ) and I believe he was in Bcoy . I would like to see if we can find any one that served with him as he always talks about it. He lived in strensall most of his life and if any one can visit who knows him I can happily pick up and drop off he is in James cook hospital ward9 , hopefully coming home to marske next week. Please put the word out if you are on other green Howard sites please cut and paste and share XIX

I was a Lieutenant in the Green Howards during the mid 1940's and would be grateful for any information to link up to old comrades. During my service I was in a subburb of Berlin Germany called Gatow Camp.

Dear X1X'ers.
I have just look at the e-petitions and, noted that there are only 585 signatures gathered.? Re-disbandment of 2 Yorks.

I am assuming that a raft of petitioned signatures survive elsewhere...regards same.

Sorry to read about Trevor suckling good friend good green Howard will be missed due to other things going on will not be able to attend funeral but will be thinking of you all especially his nearest and dearest

dear all any one going to richmond sun with an empty seet and can give me a lift it would be great i can chip in for go go juice or a couple of pints as i cant drive any more and supposed to use wheel chair but will only have cruches with me . thanks all

I received a phone call today from Ben Gunn informing me of the sad news that Richie has passed away. Richie was a Malayan veteran and a member of the Barnsley & Districts Branch of the GHA. For quite a while he served the Branch well as our Hon Treasurer. Details of his funeral will be published as soon as they are known.
R.I.P. Richie; a true Green Howard, you will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you.
