Officers' and soldiers' uniforms of the 19th Foot that were worn during the Crimean War, 1854-1856. These uniforms are unique for their state of preservation.

In 1803, Corporal George Barnsley was serving with the 19th Foot in Ceylon. He was the sole survivor of a massacre of sick and wounded soldiers at Kandy, and his own hand-written account of the incident can still be read in the Museum.
