FRIENDS AGM AND COLONEL GEOFFREY POWELL LECTURE

Over 70 people attended the Friends AGM and Colonel Geoffrey Powell lecture on Thursday 14th May 2009.

At the AGM Edward Nicholl was presented with a gift from Major General Andrew Farquhar in thanks for his great dedication in setting up and running the Friends of the Green Howards website.

The Colonel Geoffrey Powell lecture was given by Sir Richard Dalton. Sir Richard’s lecture focused upon his time as Her Majesty's ambassador to Tehran. He gave a fascinating and clear lecture on the complexities of diplomatic relations in Tehran. Sir Richard also considered whether it was possible that relations between Iran, America and Western Countries could improve and what might hinder and help them to succeed.
