RYAN GALLOWAY
22nd May 2009

Ryan Galloway

On Tuesday 19th May, Ryan Galloway of Harrogate started his work experience with the museum.

Coming from a family that has strong ties with the regiment, it was ideal for him to explore the history behind them. Ryan’s father was a R.S.M in the Green Howards, and his grandfather is ’Black Jack’ Galloway.

History, Ryan says, is a more favoured subject at school and with this in mind, our curator Lynda Powell set him off to work on our database updating records from the battalion mess. One of our guides Mr Peter Etherington has shown Ryan how to go about re-searching family members and what’s involved with it.

Ryan says “I am really enjoying my time at the museum and the work I’ve been doing and the working environment the museum has, I will be disappointed when it comes to an end”.
