20-YEAR-OLD ALEX IS MUSEUM'S NEW SHOP MANAGER ![]() Alex Money, the new Shop Manager at the Museum The Green Howards Regimental Museum in Richmond has a new Shop Manager - and he's not yet 21. Alex Money from Scorton, a former student at Richmond School and Richmond Sixth Form College, has been a volunteer at the Museum, in the former Holy Trinity Church in Richmond Market Place, for two years. He has helped with looking after visitors, digitizing the regiment's photographic collection and working in the shop. He joined the Museum at the suggestion of Richmond Youth Club, and he has been fascinated by the history of the Green Howards. His family has a long military history, with several generations serving in the forces. His long-term ambition is to join the RAF. Alex has had extensive experience working in the retail world, including work at Tesco. He has also worked as a waiter at The Black Bull in Malton. When he applied for the position of Shop Manager at the Green Howards Museum his experience meant that he was quickly appointed. He enjoys all aspects of the work, especially working with the Museum volunteers and meeting the public. 'I especially like talking to our older visitors about their military experiences - I learn a lot!' he says. David Tetlow, Curator of the Green Howards Museum, says, 'It's great to have Alex in charge of our shop. He brings enthusiasm and new ideas, and he gets on really well with everyone. He's a great asset to the Museum.'
