NEW VOLUNTEERS COME TO THE MUSEUM
Two new volunteers join the Museum
We are delighted to welcome Jennie Pinkney and Sam Hedges as volunteers at the museum. Initially, Jennie called into the museum to ask about her grandfather’s medals which included a rare Meritorious Service Medal, and after chatting with Tony Pearson, he persuaded her to join us as a volunteer. Jennie has an administrative background and we have quickly put her to work on organising the war diaries of WW2 which we recently received from the National Archives at Kew.
Sam Hedges is currently between completing his secondary education and will return to Richmond School in September to begin his A levels in Politics, DT and History. Sam did work briefly for us in 2007 and his interest is mainly weapons. He has begun by cataloguing the weapons and will shortly make a start on cleaning them.
We are very grateful to Jennie and Sam – and all our volunteers – for the work they do for us in helping provide a service to the regimental family of the Green Howards and the wider public.
