The photographs on this page have been very kindly donated by Mrs Marilyn Spani (<marilyn@spani.plus.com>, the daughter of Sergeant Albert Wray.

Sergeant Wray served with the Green Howards in Malaya, having transferred from the Royal Irish Fusiliers. Tragically, Sergeant Wray was one of four Green Howards killed on 2 May 1952 when their truck ran out of control down a hill and crashed into the other ranks' married quarters. The photographs and images below show the Roll of Honour for the Green Howards who died in Malaya, the report from the Green Howards Gazette of the incident in which Sergeant Wray and the three other Green Howards lost their lives, the Sergeant's Mess in Malaya at the time, and one of a group of Green Howards and their wives / girl friends socialising at the time.

If anybody can add any names or details to these photos / images, please contact the webmaster.
