Ian Miller of Brisbane,Australia, <ianmiller@froggy.com.au>
has kindly provided the following scans of a postcard that he came across in
a second-hand bookshop.
The card shows a group photo of 10 soldiers one of which is Lt. H. St. John
Harrison of 4th Batt - The Yorkshire Regiment - The Green Howards (none of the
others are identified). Along the bottom is printed "Strensall Camp. Lewis
Gun Course. Winners Range Shooting Comp". The postcard is addressed to
Mrs S. Harrison of 102 Holly Aveenue, Jesmond, Newcastle-on-Tyne.
Dated Feb10-16
Harry writes: "This is the squad I am in at Strensall. We won the range shooting competition today. Weather lovely here. Many happy returns of the day."
The postcard does not have the printers name on it but does have the number "2118" hand printed in white on the sepia photo.
If anyone can help identify Lt. Harrison, we would be most glad to hear from you.
