Maurice Kennedy, now in Australia, <srhold@bigpond.net.au> has kindly provided the following two photographs of the 3rd Battalion Green Howards (TA) taken sometime in early 1950.

The two photos were taken on the occasion of the Princess Royal (Mary, sister of King George VI) presenting the colours to the Battalion. Lt. Colonel Scrope was in command.

Maurice Kennedy has identified himself, standing 2nd from right in the back row of the 2nd photo. However, Maurice would like to know whether there is anybody who can recognise, and provide names for, the other men in the photos. We would also like information on the actual date that the photos were taken on, and if there is any further information on the occasion. Also, is the information on the Battalion correct?

Please contact this website, or Maurice, if you have any information you can provide.

By selecting one of the images, below, you will be taken to a larger sized version of the image in a new window, with comments (names, dates etc.). Close the window to return to this page.
