2013 marks the 40th anniversary of the museum in its present location. Our redevelopment plans build on this legacy ensuring that we preserve the best of the old with the new.

For almost 12 months a team - including architects, designers and our own Regimental historians - have been busily progressing plans for the development of museum. Now the Heritage Lottery Fund has agreed funding for the project, the museum is set for a major makeover.

In total, the redevelopment will cost £1.7 million with additional funding coming from fundraising efforts - the museum still has £150,000 to raise.

The new-look museum will prove to be a valuable resource to schools, families, researchers, community groups and societies.

This is a major development of our mission to celebrate the Regiment and its distinguished history; commemorate those who have served; and educate the public, and generations to come, about the Green Howards and the Yorkshire Regiment.
